Why Frozen

All of our meals are snap frozen to lock in the nutrients and the natural colour, flavours and texture of the food.

When running a busy childcare centre, you want to be confident that your food is of the very highest quality.

At Little Tummy Tucker, that’s our top priority. We’ve deliberately moved to delivering frozen meals for a number of reasons, including safety, flexibility and nutrition — to give our centres, and their parents, peace of mind.

1. Safety

Freezing is the safest way of supplying your childcare centre’s meals, as the process inactivates any bacteria and prevents them from multiplying.

As part of our strict quality control system, every batch of Little Tummy Tucker is independently micro tested for pathogenic and non-pathogenic bacteria in a NATA laboratory — a process that isn’t possible with fresh food.

Furthermore, freezing food allows us to supply to centres across Australia — so everyone has the opportunity to receive safety-tested, high quality meals.

2. Flexibility

Another benefit of providing frozen meals is that it gives YOU complete control.

We don’t dictate what your children will eat each day. Instead, you can either create a unique menu for your centre, or choose one of our assorted menus designed by expert nutritionist Kate Di Prima.

Choosing meals to suit the individual tastes of the children in your centre alleviates food wastage, so you can be confident your money has been well spent. And because you always have meals in the freezer, food shortages will become a thing of the past.

3. Nutrition

It is a popular misconception that fresh food is best. Most frozen meals are just as nutritious as their fresh counterparts, and in some cases provide even higher levels of vitamins and minerals.

We’re passionate about the many benefits of supplying frozen food. If you have any more questions about our snap freezing process, please get in touch on (07) 3217 6649.
